Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American journalist. She currently works as an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. The first time she worked at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. When she was just nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages helped her get an employment in Miami as an assistant production for Univision. Then she was promoted to a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009, the news reporter relocated into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Besides this, she produced the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. She was promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. It was the same role as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Also, she has a younger sibling. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she was married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. When on vacation Antonietta spent the time at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school however, she had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. In the end, she fell in love with the school. And they offered her an academic major. After graduation, she went to the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU, of which she's a part. They developed a close connection. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
